Cake

Why is it that slices of cake are always served pointing at you? Ok. Occasionally, they can be pointing to the side, but you know exactly which part you are going for first.

The point. The point is the softest, best part of the slice because the end has dried out more than the middle. You never go for the end first, because you know the point tastes better.

There will always be a crusty end in life and what you do with that end reflects who you are. Without the crust, the cake would tip over. The end holds everything together. Without hardship, joy could not hold any value. Without the crust, the first bite just won't taste as good.
